This Corvette has been for sale at this small used lot for a really freakishly long time. At least 6 months
They say it's a 50th anniversary edition. It isn't. 50th anniversary editions came in a special dark red/maroon paint with 50th anniversary emblems on the B-pillar.
I'm tempted to go over there, act like a buyer, and when they tell me it's a 50th anniversary edition I'll call them out on it and tell them it's worth far less than they think.
This is pretty typical Corvette stuff. Dealers around here always overprice them. A clean base C5 with 83k miles should be $15,000, tops.
I've told this to dealers before, and I always get the same response: 'nah man, these things are hot. It'll be gone in a week at this price'
Last time that happened it was a 1999 that I test drove. I wasn't planning on buying that one anyways, but they were pushing me to do it right away because it'll be gone the next week. That was 3 months ago, and I still get emails saying the car is for sale.
Car dealers, please pull your heads out your asses.

Seems like a good looking car, I've seen them go for $15,000. But I've also seen them go for a lot less than that. But $19,000. HAAILLLL NAW.

Sorta similar I'm dealing with now. Local Hyundai has a 14 2.0t gen coupe with a 27k sticker but autotrader said 23k. The 23k was what got me interested. went out to express interest, didn't buy. Been emailing salesman and he says he can do the 2.0t for 23.5 or the '15 3.8 for 26k. The manager calls me last night at 8 as I'm going out asking what he can do so I said to give me the out the door. He says 28.2 for the '14. I say uh well salesman offered me 23k. No no that can't be the same car. It's the only 14 gen coupe you have left.
Needless to say he said he'd get back to me but I already have a bad taste in my mouth after that experience.

Tags, title, delivery fee, processing fee, freight fee, vending machine refill fee, inventory usage fee, surcharge fee, in-house finance fee, out of house finance fee, finance finance fee, used car fee, spare tire fee, spare tire removal fee, vehicle detailing fee, key fob program fee...
I think that's all of them.

I'd be done with that dealership, personally. I dealt with a similar place once, Mike Steven's Volkswagen... Needless to say I have wanted to stop by a few times but with my previous experience and stories I have heard living here... NOPE! Not even to window shop.

Shit like that is why I don't deal with dealers at all.

Back in '06 I wanted to test drive an '02 Camaro SS 6-speed, that was on the lot at a local Pontiac dealer. It had 6k miles on it. We were in the car, when the salesmen said, "Now before we drive the car, I need to know if you're a real buyer. This car is $29,000."
I said, "$29 grand? It's a Camaro, it's not solid gold!"
"Well, what were you thinking to pay?"
At this point, I knew I was not buying this car. It was worth $22k, tops. I said $25k, figuring it was still a crazy enough number, that they'd still make a ton of money on it, and let me drive it. He got out to "check with the manager", but I was right. I drove it, and I heard the throw-out bearing making all kinds of racket.
When we got back, I was congratulated on "stealing" it for $25k. I said, no thanks, because of the trowout bearing. The manager chased me out the door, offering me a free warranty, basically begging me to buy it.

I've seen 03 z06s for less on ebay. You should see the crack pipe prices people want for c4s and c5s on craigslist.

That's insane, and exactly what I feel would happen with this one.

No, I almost bought a 2003 Z06 50th in black and FRC (cause Z06). They weren't all read.

The blonde with the huge knockers and blouse testing the strength of the top button has to go over the paint and fabric protection.

it didn't have 6k miles, it had 24k quarter miles.

Yep, and at least 24k burnouts.
